Tron : Legacy

The new Tron movie fails to live up to its legacy.

I have never  watched the first Tron movie which apparently was a cult favorite in its day.

Personally, the sequel was a bit of a let down for me. Yet, fans of the original may be pleased. I don't know, I'm too young.

The action is cool, can't disagree. The Tron-style duels are just breathtaking. The visuals are amazing ans the Grid is beautiful in its own cold highlighted way. Daft Punk's cameo also makes the film that much better. The story however, is disappointing.

Best part of the movie?

Sam's father has all this awesome force-like powers but he can't compete against Clu? Seriously? What a joke.

As far as I can tell, Tron's abrupt change of heart at the end is also just plain dumb. He just suddenly thinks"Oh goodness what have I done?" and rams into Clu with a battlecry of " I fight for the users!" Gosh.

The threat of Clu's army also just doesn't seem very realistic. We never actually get to see it in action besides some spear pounding to hail their leader. The soldiers themselves don't seem very lethal as they're easily dispatched by Sam, dad and Quorra. There is no fear of them. A nicely placed airstrike in the real world should be enough to take them out.

So all Sam has got out of entering the Grid is : -1 dead father who sacrifices himself and +1 hot female ISO

Bonus for entering the Grid.

Poke-Movie

A trailer has been released for Pokemon Apokelypse, This no hoax. The trailer is genuine.

My first thought was WITFH. Then I had to stop myself from laughing all my teeth out while watching the trailer.

Basically I think the Pokemon universe should just roll over and die. It's too bloated.

Random 26/8

Avatar Special Edition has just been released in my local cinema in 3D. When Avatar first came out, 3D wasn't available here yet(shed a tear for me) but I most probably am going to give that collection record of Avatar a miniscule bump soon by watching it again!(forget about that tear)

Inception

Inception. Critics give it good review but then say it's not as good as the classics.

Screw your classics. I'm young and this is one of THE best movies I've ever watched. It doesn't have to be in 3D.

The score is beautiful thanks to Hans Zimmer.

Christopher Nolan seems to have thought out every frame of the movie perfectly. I feel that it's bit rushed and could have been even a bit longer.

The actors and actresses played their part well. That's all I can say.

The story is intriguing and forces you to think. Things aren't just shoved in your face. You have to figure it out yourself and that's half the fun.

Inception is a movie you either love or hate. You either get it or not. I guess you know where I stand.

ALSO

There's been quite a lot of debate about the movie's ending. If you haven't watched, I'm going to SPOIL it right now.

The ending shows Cobb succeeding in his mission and returning to his kids. He spins his wife's totem and instead of waiting to see if it would spin forever or drop, he walks away to be with his kids.

I personally think the totem spins forever and he actually dreamt all the events in the movie.

However, that no longer matters to Cobb. Real or not, being with his kids is what matters to him the most.

That's what I think.

One Down, One To Go

She's gone, time for him to go too.

Megan Fox is officially no longer on Transformers 3. YAY!

"You should be sad" Why?

"She's hot". I beg to differ.(but she's not ugly)

Now Shia Labeouf should be gone as well and his character cut. Transformers should be about TRANSFORMERS, not teenagers. Josh Duhamel can stay, Captain Lennox fits into the story quite well and I would prefer him to be the protagonist rather than Sam Witwicky.

In the second movie, Mikaela and Sam's presence was a bit too contrived and I personally think they had too much screen time(the movie could have been shorter!) and more attention should have been paid to the transformers.

At least in the first movie, each transformers was (sort of) given an introduction. In the sequel, they're just the blur in the background. Focus more on the transformers themselves and remember that the cartoons was more than just explosions.

Predators

New Predators movie coming out(next month i think)! Excited but then again, concerned? They may focus too much on the action and not the suspense. Predator species really needs an image boost after the AVP movies(disaster). Trailer below.

Avatar Most Successful Movie Of All Time

It's official - "Avatar" is the new king of the world... or at least, the worldwide box office.
On Monday, the James Cameron-directed film passed Cameron's own "Titanic" as the highest grossing film of all-time, taking in $1.859 billion globally - after only 37 days in theaters.
However, the success may be due to higher ticket prices-especially the 3-D tickets.
The movie is great, and it may not be the most original concept/story but is definitely worth watching. If you haven't go watch it in 3D.
