Halo Reach, GOTY?

If rave reviews didn't convince you that Halo Reach is a great and legendary game, this set of numbers will.

6000 years of playtime has been logged in 70 million matches by 40 million players over 1 week.


Keep in mind that this is XBOX 360 only, if it was multiplatform I can't even begin to imagine the scale.

At the same time, there was still plenty of Halo 3 being played.

On another note, this stats sorta convince me that video games may be a little of a bad thing considering how much time was wasted.

FPS FTW

Bungie, developers of the god-like Halo series have begun work on a new multiplatform(that means PS3! too) franchise to be published by Activision.

They have started making some progress with the new game and are going to develop a game engine more powerful that is going to put Halo : Reach's to shame. Or so I hope.

It will definitely be a FPS of some sort and I hope it's still within the sci-fi genre because Call Of Duty is already set in present day/ historical war times.


All this hype over shooters a bit too much? Action games, particularly shooters have been linked to sound decision making.

A study has shown that first person shooter gamers excel at probabilistic inference, making fast and accurate decisions based on any evidence from surroundings.

Strategy and RPG gamers however, are found to be lacking in that expect. In your face, saying that FPS are just point and shoot.

Halo Reach

Halo Reach will be released in about half an hour from the time of writing. And I will never get to play it. :'(

Personally I think this game by itself is practically worth buying a 360 but I'm sure my parents wouldn't agree. *Sigh* The downside of having more than one game console in the world.

It did not help that IGN reviewed the game early and gave it a 9.5!!
