Medal Of Honor Multiplayer

The multiplayer is developed by DICE of Bad Company 2. However, this will not be a clone of Bad Company 2. The destructibility is off, vehicles play a smaller role(no tanks, choppers or uav) and maps are smaller and more suited for infantry combat. It seems to deliver fast paced combat akin to Modern Warfare 2 but retains all the good parts of BC2.The unlocking system is identical to BC2. Primary weapons now can have three different attachments. As far as I know, you still can't go prone.(WHY?!)

While multiplayer is nice, I want some co-op gameplay like Spec Ops in MW2. Though unlikely, I hope there will be a third game mode.

Medal Of Honor Story

I'm really excited about Medal Of Honor not so much because of the multiplayer like most people but mainly because of the single player, Hopefully, it will be fully fleshed out unlike Bad Company 2 which was rather bland. Modern Warfare 2 was good but a little short. I wish the Medal Of Honor campaign will not be outshined by the multiplayer or any other game modes.

The story this time around is about the struggles of Tier One operatives involved in behind enemy lines action as well as that of the US Army Rangers in their fight against the Taliban in Afghanistan. There will be plenty of sneaking around and full scale gunfights including some vehicle sequences : similar to recent first person shooters. However, seeing as Medal Of Honor is a prestigious franchise, EA LA put all their effort into research for the game and freed of multiplayer commitments, it could finally be THE Modern Warfare 2 killer. Just saying.

Knifing

I've been playing Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company 2 for quite some time now and I notice that the thing that annoys me the most in both these games is when you're knifing someone.....



Knifing in Modern Warfare 2 is just too easy. Its like there's a magnet on the knife and the knifing range is far enough even without the commando perk...With the perk,you can knife a guy like ten feet away which is too imbalanced...




Knifing in Bad Company I would say is a bit of a pain really....unlike Modern Warfare,knifing people easily misses them...if the person moves a little you would miss completely and the guy would probably hear you or see you and you would be the one dead instead.So i wont use the knife unless i'm behind the person...

Modern Warfare 2 Killer

It seems that now every upcoming first-person shooter wants to top Modern Warfare. They seem to follow a checklist.

1. Epic moments, check. 
2. Gritty story, check. 
3. Varied and exotic locations, check.

EA's Medal Of Honor Tier One will be hoping to do better than Bad Company 2 which outclassed MW2 in multiplayer but failed to create a good singleplayer experience. Medal Of Honor is shaping up to be a Modern Warfare killer. EA LA is developing the singleplayer while DICE of Battlefield series will be developing multiplayer. There will be a lot of work put into the game by both studios as they aim to do a better job than the other. DICE will be able to refine their Battlefield multiplayer while EA LA will aim to make a stunning campaign.

Modern Warfare 2 References?

Bad Company 2 dialogue pokes fun at rival game Modern Warfare 2's mission 'Cliffhanger' . Only those who have played will understand.

#1 "No no no. They'll just send some special ops douche bags with pussy ass heartbeat monitors on their guns instead of us." Sweetwater referring to the attachment that Roach uses to infiltrate a Russian base with Soap. 

#2 "It's not a snowmobile. Snowmobiles are for sissies." Sarge referring to the mode of transport used by Roach and Soap to escape the Russian base.

First video shows the gameplay dialogue. Second video shows the 'Cliffhanger' mission.

Bad Company 2's final mission 'Airborne' is also similar to a COD 4 mission 'Mile High Club'. Both take place on an airliner and both teams escape by jumping out of a hole blown in the aircraft.

Bad Company 2 Review

My efforts to get Bad Company 2 were slightly delayed(by 2 weeks) but I have finally got my hands on the game and played it. It has been fairly satisfying although there were various small annoyances.

The gang returns

Generally gameplay is exactly identical to the first Bad Company. The controls have been tweaked a bit but everything feels the same. The biggest difference in gameplay is the health system. The game features a slow regeneration health system similar to Modern Warfare 2. Destructibility is greater and more realistic. Environments are less open and slightly more linear now. Some may be disappointed with that but I personally don't mind.

The story line is darker than some gold-hunting expedition and involves a doomsday weapon. The characters swear a lot more but are still as jokey and funny as before. There are also more scripted action sequences now but they just feel over-the-top. The game constantly hits you with fast-paced action that it becomes a bit boring.

Destruction!

Now, for my grievances. The graphics are great but there are a lot of texture fade-ins. Sometimes objects and backgrounds just suddenly pop into place. The animations of the dead enemies also frequently glitch. Gunfire sounds still produce a lot of echo. I also miss Mike One Juliet or Miss July.

Vehicular combat

The multiplayer once again delivers standard battlefield combat. Minor elements have been tweaked but nothing of note.

Does It Get Any Better?

Yes, it does. I'm talking about first-person shooters. A recently released live-action trailer for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier pushes all boundaries of action games. Sick of all the run and gun combat of Modern Warfare 2 or Bad Company 2? Wait a few months.

Bad Company 2

After my coming tests, I might just celebrate and get Battlefield : Bad Company 2!

Besides awesome destructibility and firepower that is just greater than ever in this sequel, Bad Company has a great sense of humor. Example below.

One of the characters in Bad Company 2 just pwns rival game Modern Warfare 2 by saying "the enemy? they're gonna send some pussies with heartbeat sensors instead of guns" referencing the way Roach and Soap infiltrate a base. You also have to lol when the trailer ends with  the tagline "specializing in online warfare since 1942" referencing the first Battlefield game, Battlefield 1942.
